Venue brand monitoring beyond the review sites

Venue brand monitoring means knowing what is said about your bar, club or lounge wherever it is said: review sites, Instagram and TikTok, Reddit, local news, and the answers AI assistants give. We watch those channels every day and sort each mention by how urgently it needs you.

Guests talk in more places than Google

BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 asked 1,002 US adults how they check local businesses. The answers explain why watching one platform is no longer enough.

  • 6review platforms consulted, on average, when researching a local business
  • 71%use Google reviews, down from 83% a year earlier
  • 45%used AI tools for local business recommendations
  • 19%expect a reply to their review the same day

AI assistants now sit behind Google and Facebook as a source of local recommendations, and they can repeat what they find, including old hours and outdated complaints.

Three alert levels

Every mention gets a level, so your team only hears about what needs them.

LevelTypical mentionsWhat happens
GreenPraise, routine comments, questions about hoursWeekly digest; reply where useful
AmberComplaints about waits, prices, staff; wrong facts onlineReply or correct within a day
RedSafety claims, discrimination claims, a post spreading fast, press interestAlert the manager straight away; recovery plan

Red alerts move straight into reputation recovery. Replies to review-site mentions follow the method on review management.

What we watch

  • Review sites: Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor and any local or nightlife guide your guests use.
  • Social: posts, tags, comments and videos that name the venue or its events.
  • Community: Reddit, local forums and neighborhood groups where they are public.
  • News: local outlets, event listings and press mentions.
  • AI answers: what assistants say about your venue, checked against the facts each month.

We only monitor what is public. Private groups and messages are off limits. How to set up the same routine yourself is in our guide to reputation monitoring.

Guest asks, venue replies

Guest asksWhich platforms do you watch?

Venue repliesThe review sites your guests use, the main social networks, local news, community forums and the answers AI assistants give about your venue. We agree the exact list with you at the start.

Guest asksDo you reply on social media for us?

Venue repliesWe draft replies and flag what needs one, and your team posts them, or we post with your approval if you prefer. Some posts are best left alone, and we will say so.

Guest asksWill we be alerted at night?

Venue repliesFor red-level alerts, such as a safety claim or a video spreading fast, yes, by the channel you choose. Everything else goes into a daily or weekly digest.

The reputation review is free. Tell us your venue and where guests leave reviews, and we reply with what stands out, what needs an answer, and what to leave alone.
